Background / Decision Summary:

The Local Plan is currently under examination. Following consideration of policies H5 ‘Gypsies and Travellers’ and H6 ‘Travelling Showpeople’ in detail at the Phase 5 Hearing session in March 2024, the Inspectors  concluded in their letter of 7 May 2024 (EXINS50) that consultation on Main Modifications to the policies were required. The Main Modifications required by the Inspectors were subsequently agreed in detail.

The Council conducted a citywide consultation for a statutory 6 weeks between 15 July to 30 August. The Consultation deadline was extended further to 3 September 2024 in agreement with the Inspectors. The Consultation material remains available via our webpage: Local Plan Proposed Main Modifications Consultation July 2024 – City of York Council.

This consultation Statement satisfies Regulation 22 of the The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 to report on how the consultation was undertaken, including consultation methods and who was consulted and a summary of the representations received. A copy of all redacted representations will also be made available in due course.
